Hi!

I've installed the plugin and I can see the stars so all looks good! However, when I log in as a test user and attempt to set a star an "Updating" message appears and never finishes.

Your server response with an Internal Server Error (500) performing the rating.
Version 1.1 fix this for some servers, may be other servers results incompatible.

Can you try to install version 1.0 and tell us if it work correctly? (I've attached it to this post)

I installed the plugin you supplied ... but still the same problem. Example:

Stars are there but never can set them ... any other thoughts?

Ok after working with the hosting site they changed some permissions somewhere and now all is working! So if anyone is having problems you may want to contact your hosting company or tweak some permissions and that might get things to work.

Ok thanks for this precious information.

If it could be useful for other users, I show my solution for the same problem I experienced on the same host (Siteground).

Change to 755 the permission of this file:
public_html/plugins/content/ji_votitaly_ajax.php


The problem, as the host support team said, is due to the fact that they are running PHP as CGI in SuExec mode.

I'm having the same problem as mentioned by others, with the ji_votitaly_ajax.php file returning a 500 server error.

I've looked at both this and other postings and tried all of the suggestions I have found here, but nothing has resolved the problem.

The website I'm working on is for a closed community, so I've added voting functionality to one of the few public pages. The link to this page is: http://www.bpm-collaboration.com

Note: The things that I've tried so far include:

1. Changing file permissions for ji_votitaly_ajax.php to 755.


2. Installing & reinstalling both version 1.0 & version 1.1.


3. Searching for mootools versions other than 1.11 in my install.

I am also having the same problem.

When a user clicks the stars to submit a rating, it becomes stuck on "updating" and doesn't finish.

It worked before, I just can't figure out why it stopped working or how to fix it. The server is running on Windows 2003, so there is no changing permissions to 755.
